ZulfiLeaks: Pot, Kettle, Ghairat!

Whatever Zulfiqar Mirza said today was almost similar to something that I said to a friend who is an ardent MQM supporter, some days back. However, trusting Zulfiqar Mirza's word on this would not be a smart move.

In the video, the anchor Naseem Zehra reads a excerpt from one of Zulfiqar Mirza's speech. In the excerpt, it is said:
"We wanted to break Pakistan, we were against Pakistan. ... If Mr. Asif Ali Zardari would have not chanted the slogan of Pakistan Khappay (Stays), then we would have left Naudero and would have chanted the slogan of Pakistan Na-Khappay (Stays Not)..."
Upon which Mirza replies that his quote is taken out of context, and he apologizes. This kind of reasoning is nothing new, especially for Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leaders.

Quite surprising that he points at others for something that he has said himself.

Moving on, watch the following video:

In this video, Zulfiqar Mirza in response to a newspaper paper article published by The News reveals that the owner of Jang Group, the parent company for The News and GEO, Mir Shakil ur-Rehman was kempt-looking and was molested by a criminal of that time. It was he who saved Rehman from that guy. His "motion" was seconded by the man sitting on his right, Agha Siraj Durrani.

However, today, Mirza was all in love in GEO. He stayed connected with Hamid Meer, most of the times and as well as thanked the channel in his press conference.

Everyone has seen this video. At the end of the video, it was Agha Siraj Durrani who pulled Mirza once he has his fun.

Jump to 29:08 and you will hear Mirza saying:
"Somebody was grabbing me from the back. Someone was pulling. Someone was trying to get into good books. Some were trying to really hard to impress."
All of a sudden, Mirza hates his right-hand man, Durrani. How peculiar!

Mirza's point towards MQM has a lot of weight in it but lets not forget, it comes when Rehman Malik was able to conduct a surgical operation in Lyari. The courage that Mirza shown would have been far more respected if he would have pointed out all the elements causing trouble in Karachi. The HRCP report published in the first week of July reports that among political activists casualties, MQM has the most number – 77 out of 152. Clearly, the blood is not on only one hand. More surprisingly, Mirza's resignation was accepted in a heartbeat whereas the decision on MQM resignation remains to be pending.

At the end, I would like to ask Mirza whether he did something about the following video while he was in office.

Ghairat only for Lyari, I guess!
