Such...

Bilkul Such! Mobilink will never learn or maybe its employees would never learn. There has been a story out about the new Jazz Jazba logo being "not a very original idea". The logo is inspired by the logo of a company called Zagora. Check www.zagora.com.br for a look and it has been in use since 2005. However, in 2008, the original creator of the logo released a tutorial. This tutorial has been online since January 2008.

Come 2010, Mobilink Pakistan comes out with a new Youth brand called  Jazz 'Jazba'. The whole brand identity was launched and people started whispering that it looks too close to Warid's Glow idea. Earlier today when Propakistani.pk reported about the Motorola FLIPOUT coming under Jazz Jazba, a commenter commented the link of the tutorial which brings into the notice that the logo is "copied".

Upon visiting the tutorial, I was amazed by the reaction of one of its employee. He said:
You guys are cheaters you don't know any thing about Photoshop. You copied from the biggest telecommunication brand mobillink jazba. Kindly remove this otherwise will have to sue you.

Chalo! O sujo falando do mal lavado? (thats Portuguese for 'الٹا چور کوتوال کو ڈانٹے' or 'the Pot calling the Kettle black.') The passionate employee (who happens to spell the name of its company wrong) has forgotten to see that the page was created almost 3 years before their "Jazz" and the logo itself was made in 2005. No way in pyschic hell, the creator would have cheated.

Upon further investigation, the page was created in 2008 and the WaybackMachine proves it. Furthermore, the WHOIS of the website shows that it was created in 2006 and was created by Fabio Sasso. Meanwhile, I think the Brazilian designer (they speak Portuguese in Brazil, btw) might never pursue an infringement case on this one as he told general public how to make it. The guy is pretty talented as he is now working for Google. He is a great help to newbies (and Mobilink Creative Guys). If that the case, the British can sue the American for using English and we can sue the Indians as they use Urdu in their "Hindi" film.

Rather making an utter fool out of yourself and your country, it would have been better that one should investigate first. Thanks for the sane Pakistanis who rectified the situation by telling the Mobilink employee that he is at fault.

Now the conclusion. Mobilink, you got a logo from a tutorial, ROFLOL.
